The conference website lists Central Standard Time (CST). Knowing the conversion between CST and your local time will help ensure you are able to attend events during the Conference if you do not reside in the Central Time Zone. LearningTimes Access Information

The first time you enter into the LearningTimes IOC Conference Community you will need to set up a LearningTimes account and follow some other basic steps to gain access to the IOC Conference Community site. Any time thereafter you may enter the conference by clicking on the "Login to Conference" link in the left hand navigation of this website. If you set up an account for pre-conference, you are already set-up and ready to go. Simply click on the "Login to Conference" button in the left hand navigation of this website.

First time entry into the LearningTimes Conference Community:

Click on the "Login to Conference" button located in the left hand navigation of this site OR click on this link http://home.learningtimes.net/ioc2006 (unavailable at this time)

Once you have activated the IOC Conference Community (LearningTimes website) you will need to "Join" the Conference Community. Click "Join button"Once the new screen loads. Enter in your email address, in the "Option A" side of the screen. Once you have entered your email address, click on "Continue."The screen will reload with a form. You must fill in all of the form fields. At the top of the form, use the "Community Password" sent to you via email, by the IOC team. The Community Password will grant you instant access if you are a paid participant of the conference. Note: If you did not receive the email or have deleted it from your inbox, you may proceed in one of two ways: 1.) Email the Help Desk to obtain the password.  2.) Fill in the form without the "Community Password" and wait for an email notifying you of approval to the conference. If you submit the form with the proper "Community Password" the LearningTimes IOC Conference Community should load in a browser window.If you encountered difficulties logging in for the first time, please contact the IOC Help Desk.

Presenter Tips and Suggestions

As a presenter conducting a discussion on your paper, keeping the dialog under control will be your responsibility. Here are a few suggestions that may make your job easier: Give people logging in a few minutes (3 - 5 minutes) to login and socialize (human nature); set some ground rules up front (after the socializing period): i.e.:

A moderator makes, or breaks, an online discussion. The best success occurs when participants dialog with each other. A good moderator directs the discussion, not dominate it. The more other people participate, the more they will get out of the chat discussion.
